Any person of the Indian origin is eligible for a life insurance policy in India, even if the person is an NRI. Therefore, your cousin can get a life insurance policy from an insurer in India. He can pay premiums under his policy either by direct remittances from abroad or from his non-resident external (NRE) rupee account or non-resident ordinary (NRO) rupee account maintained in India.
