THIS IS AN ARTICLE GIVING INFO OF PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY AND MATHS FOR NEW STUDENTS... HOPE U LIKE IT MathematicsMathematics is the study of quantity, structure, space, and change. It is a tool we use to solve real-life problems. So, proficiency in mathematics is measured by our ability to use it to solve difficult problems.Students who are weak in mathematics, typically, study without writing and practicing with pen and paper. They may be spending a lot of time in reading, remembering or trying to understand the problems.Mathematics requires us to practice solving problems with pen and paper. Only by attempting problems in various ways do we become proficien

The three branches of chemistry are evenly represented in both the papers in the JEE: Straight-objective type: This involves questions with four alternative answers, of which only one is correct. Multiple-correct answer type: This involves questions with four alternative answers, of which more than one is correct. Reasoning type: Here, each question involves two statements, which have to correlated with each other. Only one answer is correct. Linked-comprehension type: This is a paragraph stating certain facts, from which a set of three questions is framed with four alternative answers, of which only one is correct.Physical ChemistryThe subject matter in physi

When a child is born he see everyone around him happy and laughing, some with tears in their eyes but I always wonder why the child cries when he see all these happy people with over inflated smile on the faces, because may be in the slightest way possible he has already realized that he is born in the world with an “excess baggage” if not “burden” of expectations. As we grow up we slowly but very steadily realize that this burden will only grow along with our age and the only way to deal with it is to get strong enough to carry it forward. Then there are people who are not satisfied with this baggage and add on the burden of

As an active forum helping students I find ' goiit ' is doing excellent job. What I like about this site is there is constant interaction of students and their questions are answered with lot of care in mimimum possible time. The uploaded study material is also helpful. I want to share some information about a unique resource in order to further enhance the preparation. That is, FREE ONLINE CLASSES. I have visited a number of sites and found only 'wiziq' offers this facility. In such a class the students can interact with a teacher on the spot, can benefit from questions asked by other students--in short a virtual classroom whe

PhaseWhen capacitors or inductors are involved in an AC circuit, the current and voltage do not peak at the same time. The fraction of a period difference between the peaks expressed in degrees is said to be the phase difference. The phase difference is <= 90 degrees. It is customary to use the angle by which the voltage leads the current. This leads to a positive phase for inductive circuits since current lags the voltage in an inductive circuit. The phase is negative for a capacitive circuit since the current leads the voltage. The useful mnemonic ELI the ICE man helps to remember the sign of the phase. The phase relation is often depicted graph

Power FactorFor a DC circuit the power is P=VI, and this relationship also holds for the instantaneous power in an AC circuit. However, the average power in an AC circuit expressed in terms of the rms voltage and current iswhere is the phase angle between the voltage and current. The additional term is called the power factorFrom the phasor diagram for AC impedance, it can be seen that the power factor is R/Z. For a purely resistive AC circuit, R=Z and the power factor = 1. Importance of Power FactorA power factor of one or "unity power factor" is the goal of any electric utility company since if the

Keep you calm and do not waste your time and energy while indulging in useless talks with your friends. Instead if you discuss about a subject that is more constructive.4. You should devote some time for everyday for meditation or playing or relaxing . It improves concentration.5. Keep the basics of the subject very clear. If any concept is not clear do not hesistate to ask from the teacher about the concept even if you have to remain back in the class to clear the doubt.6. some useful points in chemical kinetics.... 1) Rate law fr rxns involving parallel rxns....-> for example... C2H5Br + KOH ----> C2H4 +KBr + H2O also C2H5Br + KOH -----> C2H5OH + KBr in general... A = k1 B (90%)............main rxn A = k2 C (10%)............side rxn rate = - d[A] / dt = k1 [A] + k2 [A] = k1 + k2 (A) % yeild of b = k1 / k1 + k2 % yeild of C = k2 / k1 + k2 ....so we can find the amt of B and C 2)Dpendence of the rate on species of other reactants...eg. CH3COCH3 + I2 ---H+----> CH3COCH2I + HI rate = - d [I2] / dt= k [CH3COCH3] [H+]&nbs
